#KCR_QoM: Question of the Month – November Results

In November we asked our visitors what was in their opinion the value of investigator meetings. The clear winner was to “build a positive relationship among study team members” with about half of votes (48%). In second place came “motivate investigators and site teams” (32%) and last “train sites and investigators in processes and procedures” with the remaining 20% of votes.

As our previous article for #KCR_trends mentioned, in reality the answer is a fine balancing act of all three. Currently, Investigator Meetings (IM’s) are one of the few occasions where all participants of clinical trials can meet in person to understand the goals of the study as explained by sponsors and clinical research organizations, and to learn the motivations and concerns of investigators. The occasion becomes ever more relevant considering that clinical trials are growing substantially in both complexity and scale. The meetings thus become a forum for sponsors to provide training and information to investigators, build a positive relation with them and at the same time motivate the whole team for effective execution of the study.

As Sari Jagielski, CEO and founder of Evenio, mentioned in our recent trend comment, the main goal of the meeting is “to move the study forward”.
